New Ruger
I shot in my first rimfire silhouette match a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed the challenge. Even though I consider myself a pistol shooter that was my worse discipline of the three in the match, pistol, rifle and cowboy. Since I plan to go back and try this type of shooting and I’ve always been one to have the best tools for the trade, I needed some upgrades. My rifle is a CZ452 trainer that I had a 3×9 scope on and it did okay but I had to borrow a rifle to shoot cowboy (non-semi auto, open sight rifle), so I ordered a set of BRNO competition sights to install on my rifle that will use in both rifle disciplines. Now since the pistol portion was the one that seemed to give me the most trouble, I went looking for something more suited to target/competition shooting then my Browning Buckmark Camper I used in the first match. After checking out Gander Mtn and finding nothing, I headed to Larry’s Pistol and Pawn. Since Larry’s has such a large inventory it didn’t take long to find something, a Ruger Mark III Competition Target. I’ve got a couple of weeks to get the new Ruger and the new BRNO sight zeroed in before the next match.
